Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Quick journal. Commission work looks to be on schedule today, so that's good! I've changed my "saying" below my username, but for those of you who know what I'm referencing, I promise it's not in bad taste. In reality it's a way of both mocking and motivating myself to get things done, just for the record!

In other news I got the news today that Nintendo has invited us to go play a pre-release build of Skyward Sword over at their place as much as we want, as many days as we want, and they'll keep our save files. On one hand, it's immensely awesome. On the other, we have no idea how much of the game it covers. We're allowed to play through up to 4 temples (the names of which I cannot share, sorry, embargo stuff). It's really cool, and it's a month prior to release, but there's that "annoying adult" part of me now that wants to wait until release just because I'm buying it. Still, I'm a huge lifetime Zelda fan, so I probably won't. It's an awesome opportunity! We're also invited to dabble in the new 3DS titles while we're over there.

Honestly, do you guys think it would be good "down time" for me to spend a day or few over there playing Skyward Sword? I don't know why I'm asking, but oddly enough I feel like I need justification to go have fun.

Go go! It's a great way to relax! I always love playing Zelda when I feel blue or down, and I think playing Skyward Sword now might just hype you up for the game when it comes out in November. I'd be hankering to play the rest <3 xD Hope you enjoy yourself! 8D <3

go go do it ! i had a blast at E3 but u know lines... they have given you guys fun unlimited time so why not just no plot spoilers kk just about everyone doesn't want a repeat of the "Twilight princess Murders" am i right

i have only heard about 2 tracks of the game well 3 including ghirahims battle the theme and the Bazaar item customization video from Nintendo and gotta say i am loving this OST in TP cause of all the sound effects you could barely even hear the music it was so low

i am glad that mistake was fixed this time

So go have fun and count all the guys in skyloft heheheh ...seriously this is the only zelda game i have seen where there actually any Guys in O_O

Oh I've played SS a few times before, all the areas released to press, but this is different because it's the pre-release build, so not the stuff you find on the showfloors.

I thought MM had quite a few guys.

Since you're a huge fan of the Zelda series, go ahead and enjoy Skyward Sword. Since Nintendo themselves invited you guys, you should take advantage of the opportunity and play as much as you can learn what you can about the game.
