Thinking Ahead

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 5, 2011, 1:52 AM
  • Mood: Content

Hey everyone, how are all of you? I've got a bit of commission news a little further down in this journal!

I'm doing pretty well at the moment-- getting used to a new schedule. But even though it's early, it makes my day about twice as long. While this kinda stinks with sleeping, I'm not getting too little sleep so I basically have 4 extra hours or so to work. It's actually been a huge help with managing things! I've been a bit scatter-brained and slow lately, so the extra time has made me a lot more productive!

Financially, things still aren't fantastic but they're gradually and steadily moving up towards something more normal. Even little positive changes are huge for us! I've been getting consistent game assignments without them being too many, and I don't need to do tons to financially aid towards necessities anymore, so there's a bit less pressure on me. Just three commissions left before my list is free! Yes, I cheated and took a few more when I finished the "official" list because I had a very kind and patient request for a good price, I hope you'll all forgive me. :giggle:

But well, it's becoming more and more realistic I can do and plan for a few more fun things these days. :) I'm planning on finishing up these three commissions, which should go pretty quickly, and then I'll take a short break. During this break I'd really love to do an Alice: Madness Returns artwork that's been in my head, but we'll see! I'd like this break to likely carry into November so I can enjoy Sonic Generations and Skyward Sword! :D

But after my break, or maybe even inbetween, I'd like to open up commissions again. My true hope is that I can open them and take a whole bunch (and actually finish them quickly!), or a few moderate batches, so I can earn up some extra money for Christmas. See, that's planning ahead! Many of you know how I did Project Christmas Spirit last year. I probably won't do it to quite the same extent this year, but I may do a few giveaways for the holidays if I get a good commission response. :aww: This year I'd love to get a couple things for my hubby, but I'd especially love to get some special gifts for my Mom and sisters. They've had such a hellish year, going through a horrible divorce and being so terribly victimized beyond what many of you could imagine, and so beyond the normal horror that is divorce. They didn't even hardly get to celebrate their birthdays, if at all, because of things. I'd love to do something special for them. :heart:

So something to keep in mind! In the meantime game merch is still very much for sale and I'll be getting back to the people who already sent me notes today. Much love everyone!

:hug: It's good to hear things are gradually improving ^^ I'd love to get another commission in the future, but right now I'm slightly at the "penniless college student" point and have to start saving money back up a bit. I'll look into it to see after I get some money though. I got a particular original character from the short stories I put up that I kinda fell in love with unexpectedly and would like seeing brought to life XD;

Heheh, thanks! It mostly involves making good grades, so I am working hard on that. >> Just need to survive Spanish.

Well, if you open commissions, I will definitely be interested. Don't know if I can get something huge, but I'll try to swing it. Your piece is one of my fave comishes. :D
